AWS Summit Madrid: AI, Cloud Computing and the Future of Digital Transformation

Ceyhun Pehlivan, Managing Partner of Cornerstone Counsel, attended AWS Summit Madrid, one of Spain’s leading technology events, bringing together technology leaders, innovators, businesses and public sector representatives to discuss the technologies and trends shaping the future of the digital economy.

As expected, artificial intelligence (AI) featured prominently throughout the event. Discussions focused not only on the capabilities of AI systems, but also on the practical challenges associated with deployment, governance, cybersecurity and organisational readiness. The conversation has clearly evolved beyond experimentation towards implementation at scale.

Cloud computing also remained a central theme. As organisations continue their digital transformation journeys, cloud infrastructure increasingly serves as the foundation for innovation, enabling the development and deployment of AI applications, data-driven services and advanced digital solutions.

Cybersecurity and digital resilience were equally prominent topics. In an increasingly interconnected environment, organisations are recognising that technological innovation must be accompanied by robust security frameworks, effective governance structures and comprehensive risk management strategies.

One of the most interesting observations from the event was the growing convergence of technology, business and regulation. Questions that were once considered purely technical now involve legal, compliance and governance considerations. Whether addressing AI governance, cybersecurity obligations, data protection requirements or operational resilience, organisations are increasingly adopting multidisciplinary approaches to digital transformation.

Events such as AWS Summit provide a valuable opportunity to engage directly with technology leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators, while gaining insight into the opportunities and challenges that will shape the next phase of Europe’s digital economy.

The discussions in Madrid reinforced a clear message: artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity and digital resilience are no longer future priorities. They are strategic issues that organisations must address today.
