Participation in the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the European Law Institute in Madrid

Our firm was pleased to attend the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the European Law Institute (ELI), held at the Ilustre Colegio Notarial de Madrid.

The event was inaugurated by Félix Bolaños García, Spain’s Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with Parliament, and brought together leading representatives from government, the judiciary, European institutions, academia and the legal profession. Among the distinguished speakers were Teresa Peramato, Spain’s Attorney General, and Ana Gallego, Director-General for Justice and Consumers at the European Commission.

Founded in 2011, the European Law Institute is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of law in Europe, promoting legal integration and fostering dialogue between different legal traditions. Inspired by the model of the American Law Institute, the ELI has become one of the most influential legal organisations contributing to the development of European legal policy and scholarship.

The anniversary event provided an opportunity to reflect on the ELI’s achievements over the past fifteen years and to discuss the future of European law, international legal cooperation and the challenges facing legal systems in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.

We were particularly pleased to join our colleague Teresa Rodríguez de las Heras Ballel, President of the European Law Institute, whose work and leadership continue to make a significant contribution to legal scholarship and policy development across Europe.

Having participated in ELI projects and initiatives over the years, we are proud to support the Institute’s mission and its ongoing efforts to strengthen the rule of law, improve the quality of legislation and promote legal cooperation throughout Europe.

We congratulate the European Law Institute on this important milestone and look forward to its continued success in the years ahead.
